Blast From the Past: My Sister's Wedding

Hey, I found these photos this week too. My sister Katey was married to her husband Aaron in 2003. Her kids, my nieces Meighan and Abbey and my nephew Kyle, were really cute then. It's kinda all awkward all the time with those kids now....

Blast From the Past

I found two rolls of 400 ISO film in my desk this week, and got them developed. Turns out, one of the rolls was of my last weeks in Australia as an exchange student when I was 17 years old. So, some scenery, some Sea World, and some former host families at my farewell dinner.

Fridge Fun

My Fridge, originally uploaded by erinkoneill.

I love having messages left for me on my fridge, with my magnetic letter collection.

I'm Old.

But, the birthday party was fun.

1. 57 cupcakes, and a smattering of mini-cupcakes.
2. My very small apartment was very full of party-goers.
3. Hi Marissa and Justin!
4. Mary looks contrary, I think I just look confused. Oh, that's tacky.

Magic Tree!

There is a tree at a residence in Columbia, Mo. that has over 75,000 Christmas lights on it. It is awesome. I went with my fellow photo nerd Ivy one night to take photos- what photo nerd fun!

Multimedia Selections from NY Times

I'm a big fan of the New York Times. It's almost my only source of news- I read it online every day. But I have always had some issues with their audio-slideshows. they started to use reporter narration (which is a shortened version of the print story) of photos as the only audio, and I frankly think that's lazy. And then they tend to assign the interesting, hard news subjects to video or flash graphics while the audio slideshow is relegated to soft, fluffy and fashion- orientated subjects.

And thus, to wit:

Pop Flash

The blending flash (aka pop flash) technique in Shakespeare's Pizza is fun. I think it helps give the impression of the frenetic pace of the place.
